Yellow Wehrda Castle

The Yellow Castle is a large, villa-like property in the center of Wehrda in the market town of Haunetal in Hesse .

history

The building dates back to the 17th century and is a horseshoe-shaped baroque building with a mansard roof . The owners of the villa operate forestry and there is a grass seed company on the land. This was also the origin of the experimental farm for grassland management around Eichhof Castle , a branch of the "Landesbetrieb Landwirtschaft Hessen (LLH)", which has been in existence since 1965, with the name "Agricultural Center Eichhof".

In Wehrda there is also the Hohenwehrda Castle (Hermann Lietz School) and the Red Castle in the immediate vicinity.
