Election of the local council in St. Pölten in 1932
The municipal council election in 1932 took place on April 17, 1932 and was the fifth municipal council election in St. Pölten after the end of the war. The Social Democratic Workers' Party of German Austria won the election again, received the most votes and achieved an absolute majority .

In the elections, the Social Democratic Workers' Party of German Austria (SDAPDÖ) ran under Hubert Schnofl, as in 1927 .
The unit list (EL), officially the electoral community of the united Christian-Social and Greater German People's Parties , was an electoral community of the Christian-Social Party (CS) and the Greater German People's Party (GDVP) competed under Georg Prader .
The National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP) ran under Hugo Jury , and the Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ) under Johann Gablitz stood for election.
Election result
In the election of April 17, 1932, the SDAPDÖ was able to unite the most votes and gain an absolute majority , despite heavy losses . The unity list was able to hold the most votes, while the NSDAP grew strongly. The KPÖ made it into the municipal council for the first time.

Effects
The newly elected municipal council met on May 9, 1932 for its constituent session. It was Hubert Schnofl selected by 35 of the 42 votes cast for mayor. For the first vice mayor was Georg Prader (EL), chosen as the second vice mayor Franz Peer (SDAPDÖ).
The NSDAP deputies appeared in the first session in brown shirts and introduced several urgent motions, including new elections or the dissolution of the local council. The chairman of the NSDAP parliamentary group was Hugo Jury .
