Genevieve Gregson (born August 4, 1989 in Benowa as Genevieve LaCaze ) is an Australian long-distance and obstacle runner .

Athletic career

International experience gained Genevieve Gregson at the Olympic Games 2012 in London , where she with 9: 37.90 minutes in advance to retire. Two years later she finished fifth at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 9: 37.04 minutes. In 2015 she qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where she was eliminated with 9: 39.35 minutes in advance . In the following year she took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro for the first time , where she finished ninth in the obstacle course in 9: 21.21 minutes in the final . In addition, she also reached the final in the 5000 meter run , in which she finished twelfth with 15: 10.35 minutes. At the World Championships in London 2017, she also made it to the final , in which she finished twelfth with 9: 26.25 minutes. In 2018 she again took part in the Commonwealth Games in her native Gold Coast and finished fifth there in 9: 42.69 minutes.

In 2019 she qualified again for the World Championships in Doha , where she finished tenth in the 9: 23.84 min final .

In 2013 and 2015, Gregson was Australian champion in obstacle course and in 2016 over 5000 meters. She graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Physiology and Kinesiology . In September 2018 she married middle-distance runner Ryan Gregson .
