Ryan Gregson (born April 26, 1990 in Ballarang ) is an Australian middle-distance runner who specializes in the 1,500 meter run . He is 1.84 m tall, weighs 64 kg and starts for the Kembia Joggers . His trainer is Ian Hatfield.

Career

Junior area

2007 Gregson was at the World Athletics Championships in Ostrava fifth over 1500 meters. At the World Cross Country Championships in Edinburgh in 2008 , he finished 31st in the junior race. In the same year he reached the fifth place in the 1,500-meter run and 13th place in the 5,000-meter run at the Junior World Athletics Championships in Bydgoszcz . In the junior race of the 2009 World Cross Country Championships in Amman, he came in 24th place. In 2009, he also set national junior records in the 1,500-meter and 3,000-meter races with times of 3: 37.24 minutes and 7: 57.45 minutes .

Adult area

From 2009 Gregson completed his first participation in international championships in the adult field. At the Universiade in Belgrade he was fourth over 1500 meters. Over the same distance he started at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009 , but was eliminated in the preliminary round.

2010 Gregson was the first time Australian champion in the 1500 meter run. On July 22nd, 2010 he ran this distance in 3: 31.06 minutes at the Herculis in Monaco. He improved the 19-year-old Oceania record of his compatriot Simon Doyle by 0.9 seconds.
