Geoffrey Blancaneaux (born August 8, 1998 in Paris ) is a French tennis player .

Career

As a junior, Blancaneaux won the individual title at the French Open in 2016 . In the final he defeated the Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime with 1: 6, 6: 3, 8: 6. In the junior world rankings his best result was a 5th place.

Since Blancaneaux switched to the pros at the end of 2016, he has mainly played on the Future and Challenger Tour. So far, he has won four singles and one double titles on the third-rate Future Tour.

He made his Grand Slam debut in 2017 in the mixed competition of the French Open . On the side of Myrtille Georges , they clearly lost against Elina Switolina and Artem Sitak in straight sets. Thanks to a wildcard for the individual field, Blancaneaux started at the US Open in 2017 . He lost in the first round with 2: 6, 2: 6, 0: 6 against Yūichi Sugita . In October he was able to move into the top 300 of the world rankings for the first time .

In June 2018 he won his first title on the Challenger Tour in Lyon . Together with his compatriot Elliot Benchetrit , he received a wildcard for the double field. There they beat the fourth seeded duo Hsieh Cheng-peng and Luca Margaroli in three sets in the final .
