Georg Anton Heintz

Johann Georg Anton Heintz (Czech: Jiří Antonín Heinz ) (* 24. March 1698 in Svitavy ; † 22. May 1759 in Znojmo ) was a Moravian sculptor of the Baroque .

Life

Heintz was a student of the Olomouc sculptor Johann Sturmer and was strongly influenced in his work by Matthias Bernhard Braun . His main places of activity were Olomouc and Mährisch Neustadt . From 1745 Heintz was resident in Znojmo.

He created a large number of holy figures, which he regularly signed and dated.
