Georg Brun

Georg Brun (born January 10, 1958 as Georg Liebler in Munich ) is a German lawyer and writer .

Life

Georg Liebler grew up in Munich . He dropped out of high school after the 10th grade. From 1975 he was a member of the Bavarian riot police , and from 1979 to 1983 he was a detective in the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office . In addition, he attended an evening grammar school from 1980 to 1983 , where he passed the final examination. With his marriage in 1983 he took the name Georg Brun. From 1983 to 1988 studied Brun at the University of Munich Jura . He received his doctorate in 1990 with a thesis on the legal historian Heinrich Mitteis for Doctor of Law , was assistant at the Institute of Bavarian History of Law and Legal trainee in Landshut . Today Brun is head of department in the Bavarian Ministry for Science, Research and the Arts . For his services to the Bavarian Academy of Sciences he was awarded the silver Bene Merenti medal on December 7, 2019 .

Georg Brun is the author of mostly historical novels . He belongs to the authors' association " Die Kogge " and was on the board of the German Schiller Foundation from 1859 . In 1989 he received the Bavarian Literature Prize and in 1997 a residency grant from Casa Baldi .
