Georg Grozer junior or Hungarian György Grózer (born November 27, 1984 in Budapest , Hungary ) is a Hungarian and German national volleyball player .

Career

Born in Hungary, Grozer began his career in Kaposvár . He came to Vasas Budapest via Dunaferr , where he played until 2002. Then he switched to Bundesliga club Moerser SC . His father Georg Grozer became a senior trainer there in 2006 . In the following year the now naturalized Grozer made his debut in the German national team . With the DVV selection, he took fifth place at the 2007 European Championships . After the end of the 2007/08 Bundesliga season , he was loaned in May 2008 by the Italian second division club Esse-ti Carilo Loreto . Then Grozer played at VfB Friedrichshafen , with whom he became German champions in 2009 and 2010 . In 2010 he moved to Poland to Asseco Resovia Rzeszów and was Polish champion in his second season 2011/12. At the Olympic Games in London 2012 he reached fifth place. Then Grozer moved to the Russian club Lokomotiv Belgorod and in 2013 won the national cup and championship double. In 2014 he won the Russian Cup again and was the first champion in the Champions League and club world champion . With the German national team, Grozer was third at the World Cup in Poland . In 2015 he moved to South Korea to Daejeon Samsung Fire Bluefangs and in 2016 to China to Fudan University Shanghai , where he became the Chinese master in 2017. He then played in Russia, initially for VK Lokomotiv Novosibirsk and Belogorie Belgorod , and since 2018 for Zenit St. Petersburg . In 2020 Grozer switched to the Italian "Series A1" at Gas Sales Piacenza Volley.

Grozer has the greatest punch in the German national team.

Private

Grozer is married to the Polish woman Violetta, from whom he is separated. He has two daughters with her. He currently lives with the Czech volleyball player Helena Havelková .
