Georg Hohenberg

Georg Hohenberg (* as Georg Friedrich Maximilian Jaroslav Petrus Canisius Josef Markus Hubertus Maria Hohenberg on April 25, 1929 at Artstetten Castle near Artstetten-Pöbring , Lower Austria ; † July 25, 2019 ) was an Austrian diplomat and grandson of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and Sophie Chotek von Chotkowas .

Life

Georg Hohenberg came from the Austrian noble family Hohenberg and was the second son of Maximilian Hohenberg and Elisabeth, born Countess von Waldburg zu Wolfegg and Waldsee. After graduating from the Stiftsgymnasium Melk in 1949, he studied law at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate in 1955. He joined the economic department of the Foreign Office and was transferred to the embassy in Paris in 1957 . In 1963 he returned to Vienna before coming to Buenos Aires in 1966 . From 1978 to 1984 he was Austria's ambassador in Tunis and from 1988 to 1994 he represented the country to the Holy See as well as to the Order of Malta and San Marino .

On July 4, 1960, he married Eleonore Auersperg- Breunner (* 1928). They had three children:

  • Maximilian Hohenberg (born January 25, 1970 in Buenos Aires )
