Georg Ludwig Oeckler

Georg Ludwig Oeckler (born January 29, 1918 in Langquaid ; † January 1, 2004 in Schwenningen ) was a German doctor and politician of the SPD who belonged to the Bavarian state parliament from 1954 to 1962 .

Life and work

After attending the Humanist High School in Straubing , he voluntarily entered the Reich Labor Service and active military service in the Air Force. He later studied medicine at the universities of Munich , Strasbourg and Innsbruck . In October 1939 he was drafted into military service, but was temporarily assigned to continue his studies. He graduated with a state examination and doctorate, then attended war school and worked as an assistant doctor in various air force hospitals, most recently as a troop doctor in a night fighter squadron. In April 1945 he was taken prisoner by the Americans near Bad Kreuznach . After his release, he settled in Lappersdorf as a general practitioner and obstetrician . Later he lived and worked in Wasserburg on Lake Constance .

Oeckler joined the SPD in 1946, for which he belonged to the district council of the Regensburg district . He has also been a member of the Bavarian State Health Council since 1954 and its deputy chairman. In the same year he was elected to the Bavarian state parliament through a mandate in the constituency of Upper Palatinate in the state elections. In 1958 he was re-elected and was a member of parliament until 1962.
