Count Georg Ludwig zu Solms-Rödelheim (born September 28, 1664 , † December 5, 1716 ) was Major General in Brandenburg . 1680 he received from electors Anselm Franz courtyards Sädel, Praunheim and Roedelheim to fief .

His parents were Johann August von Solms (* June 7, 1623 - November 23, 1680) and his wife Eleonre Barbara Marie Cratz von Scharffenstein (* November 2, 1629 - February 26, 1680), daughter of Field Marshal Johann Philipp Cratz von Scharffenstein .

Military career

In 1686 he joined the Brandenburg contingent as a volunteer in the Turkish War , in 1689 he became captain of the Grand Mousquetaires . On June 6, 1693 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel in the Anhalt regiment. On January 31, 1694 he became commander of the regiment and its leader in the absence of the prince. On February 26, 1696 he was promoted to colonel , on January 13, 1705 to brigadier and major general . He died on December 15, 1716.

On January 12, 1696 he married Countess Charlotte Sophie von Ahlefeld (* 1672; † December 17, 1726), a daughter of the Danish Chancellor Friedrich von Ahlefeldt . The couple had several children including:
