Georg Müller (General)

Georg Müller (* 1767 in Buxtehude ; † November 21, 1847 in Celle ) was a Hanoverian officer, most recently in the rank of major general in command of Celle. He was a holder of the Guelph Order 2nd class.

Life

He came in 1781 as an ensign in the 14th Infantry Regiment, which was then used in the East Indies . On May 28, 1787 he became a lieutenant in the 3rd Infantry Regiment and on May 23, 1801 a captain . After the French invasion and the Artlenburg Convention in 1803, he went to the King's German Legion , where he became a captain in the 2nd Line Battalion on May 5, 1804. He was seriously wounded in the battle of Fuentes de Oñoro on May 5, 1811. He became major on February 18, 1813 and lieutenant colonel on June 18, 1815 . After taking over the Legion in the Hanoverian Army, he was transferred to the 8th Infantry Regiment on March 1, 1816, and to the 1st Infantry Regiment on April 1, 1820, where he was promoted to Colonel on December 21, 1828 has been. He retired on March 19, 1831 and was appointed Commandant of Celle. He became major general on July 22, 1834 and then died in Celle in 1847.
