Georg Martin Hildebrandt

Georg Martin Hildebrandt (born February 5, 1811 in Mannheim , † March 19, 1877 in Karlsruhe ; Catholic ) was a Baden lawyer and politician.

Life

Hildebrandt came from the family of a Rhine bridge money lifter in Mannheim and attended the grammar school there from 1823 to 1829. He then studied law at the University of Heidelberg from 1829 to 1833 . In 1834 he entered the Baden state service as a legal intern in his hometown. In 1836 Hildebrandt received the right to write constitution and became a lawyer in Gerlachsheim . In 1840 he moved to Rastatt as court clerk , where he became court judge in 1845 and court judge in 1847, and came with the transfer of the court to Bruchsal . In 1864 Hildebrandt became district and court court director in Freiburg and in 1869 district and court court president in Karlsruhe.

From 1847 to 1852 Hildebrandt was a member of the second chamber of the Baden assembly of estates for constituency 40 (Tauberbischofsheim and Gerlachsheim) . From 1859 to 1870 he had a mandate for the constituency 29 (Bruchsal). According to his political orientation, Hildebrandt was one of the moderate oppositionists. He finally found his political home in the National Liberal Party . Hildebrandt was President of the Second Chamber from 1861 to 1870. In 1873 Hildebrandt was made an extraordinary member of the State Ministry and, as a member appointed by the Grand Duke, was a member of the First Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly from 1873 to 1876.

Hildebrandt was married. His son-in-law Karl Josef Martin was also a member of the second chamber of the Baden state parliament in 1873/74.
