Asching is a scattered settlement in the Lower Mühlviertel in Upper Austria and locality of the municipality of Windhaag bei Perg . The main town is the small hamlet Dörfl .

geography

The village is located about 6 km north of the city Perg near the South Rim of the Mühlviertel to Machland and extends around the 400- 580 m above sea level. A. over the left (eastern) heights of the Naarn valley , halfway between the municipal capital Windhaag and Allerheiligen in the Mühlkreis , which extends over the heights on the opposite side of the valley.

The place comprises about 40 buildings with around 130 inhabitants. In addition to the hamlet Dörfl (approx. 550 m above sea level ), the local area also includes the individual layers Stiegler , Unterthanner , Oberthanner south of Dörfl (still above Windhaag), and Mitterasching , Riegleder , Winkler north of Dörfl as well as the small power station Aschermühle ( 401 m above sea level ) on the Naarn and the Naarntalstraße (L 527).

Tourism and nature

The valley of the Naarn, below the village, is a European protected area , the FFH area Waldaist-Naarn . The nature park path also runs here.
