The settlement is at around 470  m above sea level. A. in the Lower Mühlviertel , about 8 kilometers northeast of the town of Perg . The houses, a group , belong to the municipality of Windhaag, in the northeast there are still a few scattered houses in the municipality of Rechberg, so that the place falls into two municipalities . They are looked after by post from the Münzbach post office , about two kilometers south, as the villages in both communities are a bulging outlying area; the village is actually through the moat of the Modlerbach (in the upper reaches of the Kropfmüllerbach , also called Tobra Canal , because it provides the water to the Tobrabach and Tobra towards Mettensdorf to the lowest Naarn near the Danube) separately. The surrounding Münzbacher areas are the village of Saxenegg .

The place comprises about 15 buildings with about 80 inhabitants (as of 2001), only 4 of them in Rechberg. The localities also include the individual layers Auger in Windhaag and Oberkurz in Rechberg.

In the far north (the Rechberg part) lies a part of the extensive Mühlviertel Nature Park , which - apart from the Naarn Valley - has its southernmost extent here. This nature park is placed under landscape protection because of its richly structured cultural landscape , which is typical for the lower Mühlviertel , the area around Oberkurz is also a blue area because of the occurrence of the woodlark (WF area in the conservation and development program, areas that are valuable in terms of nature conservation and significant areas in terms of water protection within the framework of the ÖPUL ) mapped. Otherwise the area is used purely for agriculture and forestry.
