The settlement east and northeast of Perger city center extends from Greiner Strasse on the northern edge of Machland (formerly Donau Strasse ) to around 250  m above sea level. A. along the former L 1423 (Münzbacher Bezirksstraße) to the southern edge of the Austrian granite and gneiss highlands at about 330  m above sea level. A. From a geological and geomorphological point of view as well as aspects of the use of space, Karlingberg belongs to the Upper Austrian spatial unit southern Mühlviertel peripheral locations .

In the cadastral community of Pergkirchen, the Poschacher settlement that was built in the 1980s on former land owned by the Poschacher family is also part of the local area . To the east of it runs the new route of the L 1423 built in the 2000s as part of the east bypass of Perg (also called Münzbacher feeder). For reasons of nature conservation, this has a chain of tunnels with three underground passages (two 100 meters each and one 200 meters long) that function as green bridges.

The nearby town of Pasching was built around a derelict manor, is statistically included in Perg zu Lehenbrunn and in Windhaag as a village (address range) Karlingberg, and is equipped with Karlingberg-Lehenbrunn signs .

Richterhof and Karlingbergergut as well as a few other houses in Karlingberg have always belonged to the Perg market, with the border to Pergkirchen being the road to the north, the "Alte Ziehberg".

The municipality boundary between Perg and Windhaag runs from the village of Kuchlmühle im Naarnal along the former L 1423 in a northeastern direction, so that the village falls into three or two municipalities today . It comprises almost 100 buildings with around 350 inhabitants, half of which are in the two communities. 177 people (2001 census) and 204 people (2011 census) live in the part of the village belonging to Perg. 168 people (2001 census) and 172 people (2011 census) live in the part of the village belonging to Windhaag.

The peculiar demarcation within the village of Karlingberg is documented by two remaining castle cemetery stones of the market Perg, one of which is in the village on the border between Perg and Pergkirchen in Greiner Straße No. 9. The second castle cemetery within the village of Karlingberg is at the junction of the connecting road from the L 1423 in the direction of Naarnal, where Pergkirchen, Perg and Altenburg have a common border point.
