Mitterberg was also called Weiß-Siedlung before the official place name was created and is a place in the cadastral municipality of Pergkirchen in the municipality of Perg in the Perg district in Upper Austria .

Location and description

It is a place built in the 1970s on the property of the Weiß farm in the village of Lehenbrunn south of Pasching and Forndorf and north of Thurnhof . The Thurnhofbach flows north and west of the settlement.

From a geological and geomorphological point of view as well as aspects of the use of space, the settlement belongs to the Upper Austrian spatial unit of southern Mühlviertel's peripheral locations .

The decisive factor for the name was the location of the former Mitterberg Castle southwest of the village .

The number of inhabitants rose from 146 to 172 people (2001 and 2011 censuses).

Mitterberg water cooperative

The Mitterberg water cooperative was founded in 1972 to supply the town with drinking water and has around 40 members.

The cooperative operates a drilled well with a depth of 25 meters, for which purpose the area north of the village on Landesstraße L 1423 (Münzbacher Straße) was defined as a water protection area . The cooperative owns a 72.5 square meter property on which the square pump house (side length 4.45 meters) is located.

The pipeline network is around 3 kilometers and was completely renovated between 2015 and 2017. The annual water consumption is around 3,500 cubic meters. Electronic monitoring of the water pressure and power supply has been in place since the end of 2014.

Chairman:

  • Friedrich Kastner (1972 to 1992)
  • Leopold Lampl (1992 to 2012)
  • Walter Pichler (since 2012)
