Act

For Georg Meggle, the analytical philosophy is a tool with which one can also gain clarity about everyday issues. Accordingly, he judges philosophers not just on what they say, "but to a considerable extent on what they do - or fail to do". At the beginning of his studies in Munich at the end of the 1960s, he joined the demonstrations against the emergency laws .

Meggle repeatedly campaigned for free discourse . In 1989, despite massive protests, he invited the controversial Australian ethicist Peter Singer to give a lecture. In 2000 he wrote two ethical commentaries on the Kosovo war in which he examined “ NATO morality” using logic.

From 2002 Meggle dealt with the ethical dimensions of terror & the war against him and with the Palestine conflict in seminars, lectures and lecture series at the University of Leipzig . In 2003, when Ted Honderich gave a lecture at Meggle's invitation , there were tumults, in 2005 there were protests at Noam Chomsky's lecture .

In 2004 Meggle initiated the Sunday conversation in Leipzig . It is an attempt to offer "University for All".

As Meggle 2020 at the Humboldt University Berlin, a lecture Who is Antisemite? held, this sparked national and international criticism, as Meggle is considered a sharp critic of Israel and a supporter of the BDS movement directed against the Jewish state .
