Georg Wilhelm von Willich (* July 8, 1718 in Celle ; † March 5, 1792 ibid) was Vice-President of the Higher Appeal Court in Celle . He was the father-in-law of Albrecht Daniel Thaer .

Life

He came from the Willich family in Brandenburg and was the son of the Celle rural physician Friedrich Wilhelm Willich (1683–?) And Gertrud Elisabeth von Bilderbeck . Willich was raised to the imperial nobility on March 21, 1765 in Vienna , and on July 1, 1766, he also received Brunswick-Lüneburg recognition of his nobility .

Willich studied law at the University of Göttingen in 1738 and in that year joined the “ German Society ” (also: “Göttingen Society”), which was founded there. He began his professional career as a secretary at the royal justice office in his hometown, where he is still mentioned in 1748 as a member of the "German Society". Willich married Dorothea Elisabeth Dietrichs . Both daughter Philippine got engaged in 1785 to the city ​​physician and court physician Albrecht Thaer (1752-1828) after he had cured her of a serious illness, and married him in 1786. The daughter Henriette (1755-1782) married the lawyer Georg Ernst von Rüling and died early of consumption. After her death, she became known for her grave, the " Open Grave " in the Hanoverian garden cemetery.
