George B. Chan

George B. Chan (born November 5, 1921 - March 27, 1998 ) was a set designer and art director .

Life

Chan began his career on the film staff in 1964 as art director on Don Siegel's crime drama The Death of a Killer . In the course of his career he only worked on five feature films as art director or production designer. 1970 he was for the film comedy Gaily, Gaily , along with Robert F. Boyle , Edward G. Boyle and Carl Biddiscombe for the Oscar in the category Best Art Direction nominated, but the award went this year to the musical film Hello, Dolly! .

His main field of activity was television, where he worked for almost 25 years and took part in numerous series and television films. Between 1972 and 1977 he worked on 110 episodes of the crime series The Streets of San Francisco and from 1986 to 1989 on 62 episodes of An Angel on Earth . His other works include the series Invasion von der Wega , Cannon , Barnaby Jones and Spenser .
