George Curcă (born May 8, 1981 in Isaccea , Tulcea County ) is a former Romanian football player . The goalkeeper played a total of 221 games in League 1 .

Career

Curcă began his career at Farul Constanța , where he was brought to the first team in 2000. In his first season he was second with Farul in the second division and made promotion. In the playoff Farul was able to prevent relegation the following year . After finishing 10th and 9th, Farul was fifth in 2004/05 and made it to the cup final . With the seventh place in the 2005/06 season he qualified for the UI Cup .

His first game at European club level was Curcă on June 18, 2006 against FK Pobeda Prilep from Macedonia . The goalkeeper played through. After 14th place in the 2006/07 season and 13th place in the 2007/08 season , Farul rose to the end of the 2008/09 season on the 16th place in the League 2 from.

The goalkeeper then moved to Dinamo Bucharest , where he has not yet made the leap to become a regular. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he came on four missions, but had to leave the field to his competitor Emilian Dolha from September 2010 . For the second half of the season he was loaned to the relegation-threatened league competitor Unirea Urziceni , but could not avoid going to League II . In the summer of 2011 he returned to Dinamo, did not get beyond the role of substitute goalkeeper behind Cristian Bălgrădean , so he was loaned to his home club Farul Constanța in the second half of the 2011/12 season in the Liga II. In the summer of 2012, Farul finally signed him. At the end of the 2013/14 season , he had to relegate his team to League III . In 2014 he ended his active career.

National team

Curcă played two games for the Romanian national football team during a tournament in Cyprus in February 2004, but both were not counted as official internationals.
