George Kocherry
George Kocherry (born February 4, 1945 in Changanacherry , India) is a diplomat of the Holy See .
Life
George Kocherry was ordained a priest on June 26, 1974 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him titular archbishop pro hac vice of Othona and apostolic nuncio in Togo and Ghana on June 10, 2000 . He received episcopal ordination from the Archbishop of Changanacherry , Joseph Powathil , on August 21 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Joseph Pallikaparampil , Bishop of Palai , and George Valiamattam , Archbishop of Tellicherry .
In 2002 he resigned from his office as Apostolic Nuncio in Togo. Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on December 22, 2007 as Apostolic Nuncio in Zimbabwe . On July 6, 2013, Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Bangladesh .
