Georgi Sergejewitsch Tscherwjakow ( Russian Георгий Сергеевич Червяков ; English Georgiy Chervyakov ; born February 15, 1990 in Lyswa ) is a Russian ski jumper .

Career

Chervyakov made his international debut in July 2008 in the FIS Cup . In the first two competitions in Oberwiesenthal he was among the top 20. After finishing sixth in Štrbské Pleso in August , he started in the ski jumping Continental Cup in September . In the first competitions until February 2009 he did not reach the points. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2009 in Štrbské Pleso, he reached 52nd place in individual jumping.

Two days later he made it into the points for the first time in 18th place in Zakopane . After he won another point in Wisła as 30th, he reached 130th place overall with a total of 14 points at the end of the season. In the summer of 2009 he did not succeed, but at the beginning of the 2009/10 season in Otepää he was able to jump back into the points. A little later he achieved his best Continental Cup result to date with 12th place in Sapporo .

At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2010 in Hinterzarten , he reached 12th place in individual jumping. With the team, he finished eighth in the team competition. After this success, he traveled with the A-team to the Ski Jumping World Cup in Klingenthal , but narrowly missed the competition there in 44th qualification. In Willingen Tscherwjakow succeeded for the first time to qualify for a World Cup. As 45th he missed a result in the World Cup points clearly. At the Team World Cup he reached 12th place on the same hill with the team.

Back in the B squad, he was able to score again in March at the Continental Cup competition in Kuusamo . A little later he took part in the 2010 Ski Flying World Championships in Planica . However, as 43rd in qualification, he missed the leap into the qualifying round. Together with Stanislaw Oschtschepkow , Ilja Rosljakow and Roman Trofimow he reached the ninth place in team flying.

After Chervyakov jumped into the points twice in the Continental Cup at the jumping in Almaty , he got a place in the senior national team at the beginning of the 2010/11 season . But after he missed the qualification at the World Cups in Lillehammer , Harrachov and Engelberg , he was transferred back to the B-squad and started again in the Continental Cup. After he jumped back to 10th place in Sapporo, he was again transferred to the World Cup squad. At the two World Cups in Sapporo he reached places 48 and 47, which again left him without points.

Back in the Continental Cup, Chervyakov has shown poor performance so far, with a few exceptions. Even in the FIS Cup in December 2013 in Notodden , he did not make it to the top positions.
