Gerard Tlali Lerotholi

Gerard Tlali Lerotholi OMI (born February 12, 1954 in Mokhotlong ) is a Lesothic clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Maseru .

Life

Gerard Tlali Lerotholi joined the Order of the Oblates (OMI) on January 25, 1976, made profession in 1981 and was ordained a priest on January 3, 1982 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Archbishop of Maseru on June 30, 2009. The episcopal ordination donated him his predecessor as archbishop of Maseru, Bernard Mohlalisi OMI, the same year on September 12; Co- consecrators were Evaristus Thatho Bitsoane , Bishop of Qacha's Nek , and Sebastian Koto Khoarai OMI, Bishop of Mohale's Hoek .

In July 2015, he received a death threat. Shortly before, two celebrities who were close to the opposition had been murdered.

On November 11, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him a member of the Pontifical Council for Culture .
