history
Beginnings until the 18th century
Geratshofen (also: Gerhardishove, Gerizhof, Gerezhof, Gerazhof, Geratshof) was first mentioned in writing around 1200 in connection with a donation to the Reichenbach monastery .
In the model registers three teams were recorded for Geratshofen in 1522 and four teams in 1572.
In 1622 Geratshofen is listed with a farm, two estates and a Sölde . In 1630 two farms in Geratshofen belonged to the Reichenbach monastery.
For the period from 1631 to 1762 Geratshofen is always recorded together with the neighboring Mallersdorf, so that only the sums for these two villages are available:
- 1631: a farm, two estates, a house, a resident (Hütmann), 17 cattle and two pigs.
- 1661: a farm, two estates, a house, a resident (Hütmann), 19 cattle, three pigs and 5 goats.
- 1762: 7 properties, a neighboring house, a hut, 6 residents (including two day laborers and a guardian), 13 hearths.
At the end of the 18th century there were 7 properties in Geratshofen, two of which were landable for the Reichenbach Monastery.
19th century to the present
According to an ordinance of 1808, the district court of Neunburg vorm Wald was divided into 55 tax districts. Grasdorf formed a tax district with the villages of Demeldorf, Geratshofen, Höfen bei Grasdorf and Mallersdorf. At that time Geratshofen had 7 properties and 41 residents.
In 1820 rural communities were formed. The rural community Demeldorf was created, which consisted of the villages of Demeldorf with 7 families, Geratshofen with 7 families, Grasdorf with 6 families, Höfen bei Grasdorf with three families and Mallersdorf with four families.
On March 23, 1913 (Easter) Geratshofen was listed as part of the Schwarzhofen parish with 8 houses and 44 residents. When the municipality of Demeldorf was incorporated into the municipality of Schwarzhofen in 1960, Geratshofen became part of the Schwarzhofen municipality. On December 31, 1990 Geratshofen had 32 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Schwarzhofen.
