Gerd Zenhäusern
Gerd Zenhäusern (born April 27, 1972 in Visp ) is a Swiss ice hockey coach and former ice hockey player. On October 1, 2016, he took over the position of head of the training department at the NLA club HC Friborg-Gottéron .
Player career
Zenhäuser played for HC Sierre , SC Herisau and Lausanne HC in the National League B (NLB). With the latter club he rose in 1995 to the National League A (NLA). In the top Swiss league he was on the ice for Lausanne HC, ZSC Lions , HC Ajoie and HC Friborg-Gottéron . After the 2006/07 season he ended his playing career.
Coaching career
In 2011 Zenhäuser became an assistant coach at Lausanne HC . During the 2012/13 season he was promoted to head coach after the dismissal of John van Boxmeers and led the team to win the NLB championship title and promotion to the NLA. He had achieved both with the club when he was a player.
For the 2013/14 season, Zenhäusern moved to the coaching staff of the NLA club EHC Biel . In October 2014, he asked for his employment contract to be terminated in order to move to HC Friborg-Gottéron . There he took up the post of head coach. Shortly after the start of the 2016/17 NLA season, Zenhäusern left the post of head coach and switched to the position of head of the club's training department on October 1, 2016 within HC Friborg-Gottéron.
