Gerhard Weber (sports official)

Gerhard Friedrich Weber (born June 30, 1881 in Hamburg , † after 1934) was a German lawyer and third President of the German Tennis Association .

Life

Weber became a member of the Harvestehuder Lawn Tennis Club at the age of five , when it was co-founded by his father, the Hamburg businessman Justus Christian Heinrich Weber. In 1901, 1902 and 1905 he won the club championships and joined the board in 1906. After completing his law degree, Weber worked as a lawyer in Hamburg from 1907. In the same year he became an assessor in the Hamburg tennis guild, in 1919 its chairman. From 1925 to 1934 he was finally President of the German Tennis Association.
