Andreas Fritz Johannes Geremia , also known by his nickname Gerre (born May 13, 1967 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German singer . Geremia is a member of the thrash metal band Tankard .

Life

The son of an Italian father and a German mother attended Goethe-Gymnasium , where he graduated from high school . With four classmates, Geremia founded the band Vortex in 1982 , where he was initially supposed to play the bass . Eventually he became a singer while Frank Thorwarth took over bass. From Vortex was first Avenger and finally Tankard. Geremia released 17 studio albums with Tankard . There are also two albums with cover versions that the band recorded under the name Tankwart .

In 1995 Geremia took part in the X-Mas Project , where well-known Christmas carols were played in metal garb . Ten years later he appeared as a guest musician on the album Sometimes They Come Back… to Mosh by the Swedish metal band FKÜ. on. In 2010 Geremia sang the song Militia of Beer for the band Evil One . In the mid-1990s he was the manager of the Hessian punk band Doppelbock .

Geremia appeared with Tankard in early 1991 in the ZDF crime series Ein Fall für Zwei . In the same year Geremia appeared as an extra in the ARD series Lindenstrasse . Since 2007, Geremia moderated together with former Sodom - drummer Bobby Schottkowski the rock guerrilla TV DVDs of the magazine Rock Hard . In spring 2011 the two musicians appeared in three episodes of the ARD telenovela Sturm der Liebe .

Geremia works full-time as a social worker in Frankfurt and looks after addicts in a drug consumption room. In addition to the band and his main job, the Eintracht Frankfurt fan organizes trips away for fans and occasionally appears as a DJ . In 2010, Geremia made headlines when he lost 64 kilograms within a few months .

In 2012 Geremia recorded the joint song Die Zwei von der Tanke with Bobby Schottkowski , which was released on the Rock Hard CD in the anniversary edition 300 and played live at the Rock Hard Festival , with Waldemar Sorychta on guitar. The latter also wrote the music. Nadja Herten contributed the foundation stone for the text.
