Gervas John Mwasikwabhila Nyaisonga
Gervas John Mwasikwabhila Nyaisonga (born November 3, 1966 in Bunda , Mara ) is a Tanzanian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Mbeya .
Life
Gervas John Mwasikwabhila Nyaisonga was ordained a priest on July 11, 1996 .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on January 9, 2011 Bishop of Dodoma . The Archbishop of Dar es Salaam , Polycarp Cardinal Pengo , donated him episcopal ordination on March 19 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Mwanza , Jude Thadaeus Ruwa'ichi OFMCap , and Evaristo Marc Chengula IMC , Bishop of Mbeya .
On February 17, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Mpanda . On December 21, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him the first archbishop of the Archbishopric of Mbeya, which had become a metropolitan seat on the same date.
