Gerweis is a village and a cadastral municipality in the Echsenbach municipality in the Zwettl district in Lower Austria .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 55 building areas with 28,954 m² and 32 gardens on 8,689 m² in the cadastral municipality of Gerweis , in 1989/1990 there were 63 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of construction areas had increased to 149 and in 2009/2010 there were 60 buildings on 134 construction areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 334 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 95 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 328 hectares and 98 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 321 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 97 hectares. The average soil climate number of Gerweis is 30 (as of 2010).
