Get Busy ( english about for " Move it " / " put off ") is a song of Jamaican dancehall -Musikers Sean Paul , written by him and Steven Marsden. The song is the second single from his second studio album Dutty Rock and was released on March 4, 2003.

content

Get Busy is a party song that primarily encourages female listeners to move and dance. Sean Paul takes on the role of the lyrical self .

In the first verse, a woman is asked to move her body and shake her butt to the rhythm of the beat. She should swing her hips as she likes and not be considerate of others, just concentrate on the song. In the chorus, Sean Paul sings about going to a club with sexy women and dancing with them until the morning. Women have always been into him and make advances, so they shouldn't be too shy now and make him hot. The second verse is about the woman simply having fun on the dance floor. She should show what she has, even if she is married, since marriage and party are not in contradiction. The text of the third stanza is identical to the first. In an interlude before the last chorus, Sean Paul addresses various women by name, asking them to move their bodies.

production

The beat of the song was produced by the Jamaican music producer Steven "Lenky" Marsden.

Music video

The music video for the song was shot by Canadian director Little X and premiered in February 2003.

Initially, Sean Paul drives up in a car with his crew in front of a house with a party in the basement. He enters the house and greets the owner on the ground floor. Then he goes into the basement and takes on the role of DJ and announcer, while women primarily dance on the dance floor. The mood becomes more boisterous and the noise level rises as the partiers knock on the ceiling, causing the homeowner to head down to the basement. He snatches the microphone from Sean Paul and asks those present to be more quiet, otherwise the celebration would be broken off. The party is going on and more and more people, including a little boy, are pouring out onto the dance floor. When a particularly attractive woman enters the dance floor, Sean Paul leaves his place as a DJ and begins to dance with her. His brother now announces a song change on the microphone and Sean Paul's next single Like Glue is played. Those in attendance begin beating the ceiling again, whereupon the homeowner breaks off the party.
