Gettenau is a district of the municipality Echzell in the Wetteraukreis in Hesse .

Gettenau is located south of Echzell in the Wetterau . The places Echzell and Gettenau merge. In the hit state roads 3188 and 3412. In local proximity is a fishing lake.

history

Evangelical Church Gettenau

Gettenau is first mentioned in a document from 1280 as Gettenowe . The keystone in the door arch of the Protestant church bears the inscription "Cum deo 1485". So it was built in 1485.

On July 1, 1971, the previously independent Gettenau concluded in the course of administrative reform in Hesse voluntarily with the community Echzell for greater community Echzell together .
