criticism

"Straightforward, tough prison thriller that stands out from the majority of the genre through a careful staging and a largely elaborated story."

At kino.de the film is referred to as a “dark prison drama with tried and tested set pieces” as well as “strong actors” and “intense moments”.

“A porridge of prison movie clichés. A strong cast but nothing we haven't seen before. "

“A pulp of prison movie clichés. A strong cast, but nothing that we haven't seen before. "

- Ian Freer, Empire

Peter Bradshaw from the Guardian gives the film an "impressive cast" and praises the "convincing narrative" of the plot. On the other hand, however, he criticizes that the finale is “too far-fetched” and therefore “not to be taken seriously”. The film also assumes that violence, when used by “the righteous”, has a “ cathartic and redeeming” effect.
