Peter Bradshaw from the Guardian gives the film an "impressive cast" and praises the "convincing narrative" of the plot. On the other hand, however, he criticizes that the finale is “too far-fetched” and therefore “not to be taken seriously”. The film also assumes that violence, when used by “the righteous”, has a “ cathartic and redeeming” effect.
