Giacomo Conti (bobsledder)

Giacomo Conti ( June 24, 1918 - July 8, 1992 ) was an Italian bobsledder .

Conti joined the Aeronautica Militare , the Italian air force, during World War II and rose to the rank of major . After initially doing athletics , he turned to bobsleigh, but trained and drove almost exclusively on the track in Cortina d'Ampezzo . He used his home advantage and won the gold medal in the two-man bobsleigh at the 1956 Winter Olympics together with Lamberto Dalla Costa .
