Giacomo Filippo Gentile

Giacomo Filippo Gentile (born September 8, 1809 in Genoa , † October 23, 1875 in Cornigliano Ligure ) was an Italian clergyman and bishop of Novara .

Life

He was ordained a priest on September 22, 1832 and graduated from law school in 1838 .

On June 27, 1842 he was appointed Bishop of Novara and on January 27, 1843, the preconization took place . He was ordained bishop on May 7, 1843, by the Archbishop of Genoa , Placido Maria Cardinal Tadini OCD . The new Cathedral of Novara was built during Giacomo Filippo Gentile's tenure . He was a council father at the First Vatican Council .

Giacomo Filippo Gentile died after 32 years in the episcopate and was buried in Gozzano .
