Brothers and Sons is a German TV film by Sibylle Tafel from 2018 . It is the second film in the ARD series Praxis with a Sea View with Tanja Wedhorn as the doctor Nora Kaminski in the leading role and Stephan Kampwirth , Patrick Heyn , Anne Werner , Morgane Ferru , Lukas Zumbrock , Anja Antonowicz , Michael Kind and Shenja Lacher in the supporting roles Roll. The German premiere of the film took place on April 13, 2018 on the ARD slot "Endlich Freitag im Erste".

Nora Kaminski, the doctor without a doctorate , now lives with Dr. Richard Freese in a doctors shared apartment. When Nora's son Kai from Berlin comes to his mother's home in Rügen, in order, as he says, to prepare for an important job within his law studies, he also moves into Freese's house. At first, he does not reveal to his mother that there is not much more than a cover sheet with a title.

During her service, Nora met the fisherman Matthias Butenschön and his brother Robin, who had Down syndrome . The doctor is impressed by the care with which the young man has been looking after his brother since the accidental death of his parents and has been drawn to him from the start. So she is only too happy to follow an invitation to dinner from the brothers in their house.

However, she worries that Matthias collapses during a police check and is taken to the Rügen clinic. He ignored a rather small wound, which has now caused a streptococcal infection that has already affected the bone marrow. That is also the reason for his limp. Another problem is that he has no health insurance.

It is also uncomfortable for the doctor that an angry mother denounces her on a website for doctor reviews on the Internet. However, Nora's son Kai can help his mother in this regard. In addition, he stops a smear campaign together with Mandy.

Richard Freese, on the other hand, who suffers from pronounced mysophobia , can only helplessly watch on his first visit to his friend Joanna, who he met over the Internet, that it is his own fault that a romantic mood does not arise.

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm pointed their thumbs to the side, gave one of three possible points for humor, ambition and tension and said: “More joke than at the beginning, but too many artificial entanglements.” Conclusion: “Quite likeable, but often soapy too ”.
