Frutten-Gießelsdorf is a former municipality in south-east Styria in the district of Southeast Styria . Since 2015 it has been merged with the municipality of Sankt Anna am Aigen as part of the municipal structural reform in Styria , the new municipality continues the name "Sankt Anna am Aigen".

Geographical location
Frutten-Gießelsdorf is located about 47 km south-east of Graz and about 15 km south of the district capital Feldbach in the eastern Styrian hill country .
Former parish structure
The municipal area comprised the following three cadastral communities (area: as of December 31, 2017) and towns of the same name (population in brackets, as of January 1, 2020):
- Frutten (406.93 ha; 212)
- Gießelsdorf (359.00 ha; 264)
- Hochstraden (323.24 ha; 140)
Population development
Culture and sights
- The 40 m high observation tower Frutten-Gießelsdorf is about one kilometer west-northwest of the village. It was built in 1987/88 and restored in 2000. Because of the conspicuous red staircase, which leads with 180 steps to the 36 m high viewing platform, it is nicknamed the fire tower .

The municipal coat of arms was awarded with effect from September 1, 1996.
Blazon (coat of arms description):
- "In red gold above a cup from the Copper Age, decorated in a furrow by three triangles under grooves on the edge, a nine-leaf, four-grape-bearing vine in the shape of a tree of life."
