Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso (born October 6, 1964 in Vicenza , Italy ) is an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman and curial archbishop .

Life

Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso was born in Vicenza, but grew up in Laives in South Tyrol . On June 24, 1989, he received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Bozen-Brixen .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on June 22, 2010 secretary of the Pontifical Council "Cor Unum" .

On November 9, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Assistant Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and Titular Archbishop pro hac vice of Foratiana . The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, Fernando Filoni , ordained him episcopal on December 16 of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Bozen-Brixen, Ivo Muser , and the emeritus President of the Pontifical Council “Cor Unum”, Paul Josef Cardinal Cordes .
