Career

society

Giovanni Troupée, whose mother is from Curaçao and whose father is Dutch, grew up in the province of Utrecht and started playing football at FC Breukelen from the village of Breukelen . Later he moved to the football school of FC Utrecht and completed 11 games (1 goal) for the A-youth (U19). On May 17, 2015, at the age of 17, he played for the first time in the Eredivisie for the professional team in the 3: 3 away game against Vitesse Arnheim . In the following season Troupée ran primarily on the reserve team, but in the play-off matches to participate in the 2016-17 UEFA Europa League , he came back into use and shot at 5: 2 victory in the semi-final second leg against PEC Zwolle a Goal. In the final, FC Utrecht lost to Heracles Almelo . In the following season Giovanni Troupée fought for a regular place and again reached the play-offs for the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League with FC Utrecht . After two victories in the semi-finals against SC Heerenveen , the club from Utrecht prevailed against AZ Alkmaar in the final , after losing the first leg 3-0 and equalizing the first leg defeat in the second leg, whereupon the Utrecht team retained the upper hand on penalties. A season later, Troupée lost its regular place and was used in only 13 games. Games in the second team were not uncommon. In the UEFA Europa League, Utrecht were eliminated in the play-offs against Zenit St. Petersburg .

At the end of August 2018, Giovanni Troupée was awarded to ADO Den Haag . There he fought for a regular place, but missed the end of the season due to a knee contusion. ADO Den Haag was in the lower midfield and finished the season in tenth place. After that, Troupée returned to Utrecht, but this time too he was only left with the role of reservist. Therefore, it was awarded again in January 2020, this time to FC Twente . Giovanni Troupée also fought for a regular place in Enschede near the German border and was used in every game until the end of the season, which was due to the Corona crisis .

National team

In 2015 Giovanni Troupée played eight games for the Dutch U17 national team , with which he took part in the 2015 U-17 European Football Championship in Bulgaria . There, the Dutch team eliminated after the group stage; Troupée was used in all three games. The Amsterdam-born player then played at least one game for the U18 juniors in 2015 .
