Giulia Alessandra Viola (born April 24, 1991 in Montebelluna ) is an Italian athlete who competes in medium and long-distance running .

Athletic career

In 2009 Giulia Viola appeared for the first time at the Junior European Championships in Novi Sad , where she took eighth place over 3000 meters. In 2010 she took part in the Junior World Championships over 1500 meters , but was eliminated there in the preliminary round, as well as at the U23 European Championships the following year. In 2013 she finished seventh in the 1500 meter final of the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg . At the Mediterranean Games in Mersin she finished sixth and qualified for the U23 European Championships in Tampere , where she finished fifth.

In 2014 she took part in the European Championships over 5000 meters and finished eighth there. In 2015 she took part again in the European Indoor Championships and this time took seventh place over 3000 meters. Two years later she reached seventh place with a new personal best at the European Indoor Championships 2017 in Belgrade over 3000 meters.
