Newspaper name

The founders of the church newspaper consciously based the title of the church newspaper in 1924 on the play of the same name by the Austrian writer Karl Schönherr, Faith and Homeland, from 1910, which also hit the screen as the silent film Faith and Homeland in 1921. It deals with the violent expulsion of around 30,000 Protestant Christians from their home, the Catholic Zillertal , in 1837.

  9. Christine Lässig: A drama with consequences. The title of the Thuringian church newspaper sometimes reminds one of Heimattümelei and church tower horizon. But that was by no means what the namesake had in mind when they launched “Faith and Home” 77 years ago. On the contrary. Page 1 in: Faith and Home - Evangelical weekly newspaper for Thuringia .
