Glover Quin Freeman Jr. (* 15. January 1986 in McComb , Mississippi ) is a former American American football poker players in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Detroit Lions and the Houston Texans first as cornerback , then later as free safety .

college

Quin first attended Southwest Mississippi Community College , but then moved to the much more prestigious University of New Mexico . For their team, the Lobos , he played college football from 2006 to 2008 on the position of cornerback .

NFL

Houston Texans

In the NFL Draft 2009 he was selected in the fourth round as a total of 112th player by the Houston Texans . Quin was used in his rookie season as a nickelback and in the special teams . In the 2010 season he played as a starting cornerback, since 2011 he has been playing as safety.

Detroit Lions

On March 13, 2013, he signed a five-year contract with the Detroit Lions. If the 2013 season was already very good, he improved again in 2014 and was able to book the most interceptions in the league, for which he was also appointed to the Pro Bowl . In 2017 he received an early contract extension for two years. In 2018 he showed clear regression and was released on February 15, 2019. By then he had started all 96 games in his six seasons with the Lions.

In early July 2019, Quin announced his retirement from active sports.
