The Gmina Baranów Sandomierski [ baˈranuf sandɔˈmʲɛrsci ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Tarnobrzeski of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city ​​of the same name with about 1500 inhabitants.

The municipality is located around 120 kilometers northeast of Krakow . It borders in the northeast on the district town of Tarnobrzeg and in the north on the Vistula .

history

From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship .

Baranów Sandomierski station is on the Łódź – Dębica railway line , and passenger traffic was discontinued in 2009.
