The Gmina Górzno is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Brodnicki in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city ​​of the same name ( German Gorzno ) with 1440 inhabitants (2016).

The municipality is located in the former West Prussia , about 60 kilometers east-northeast of Toruń (Thorn) and ten kilometers southwest of Lidzbark (Lautenburg) .

There are four nature reserves in the municipality . The east of the municipality belongs to the wooded Górznieńsko-Lidzbarski Krajobrazowy Landscape Park .

history

As part of the first partition of Poland in 1772, the municipality came to Prussia . After the First World War , it was ceded to the Second Polish Republic in January 1920 under the provisions of the Versailles Treaty . After the invasion of Poland was 1,939 German occupied and some places have been renamed.

The urban and rural municipality has existed since 1975, when it was part of the Toruń Voivodeship until 1998 .

Around 4,000 people live in the urban and rural community (gmina miejska-wiejska). In addition to the town of Górzno, the municipality includes eight villages with school boards and other smaller towns:
