The Gmina Izbica Kujawska is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Włocławski of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name (until 1954 Izbica ) with about 2700 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the south of the powiat and borders in the west and south with the Greater Poland Voivodeship . Włocławek is about 35 kilometers northeast, Koło 25 kilometers south.
history
As part of the second partition of Poland in 1793, the municipality came to Prussia . In 1919 it became part of the reborn Poland . During the occupation (1939-1945) of the Second World War , the places were given German names, the city was renamed Mühlental in 1940 . Before the end of the war, the area came back to Poland.
The community has existed since 1973 when Izbica Kujawska received city rights again . From 1954 to 1972 there were a few gromadas in what is now the municipality . From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Włocławek Voivodeship .
