The Gmina Lipsk is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Augustowski in the Podlaskie Voivodeship in Poland . It has more than 5300 inhabitants, its seat is the city of the same name , in which about 2400 people live.
Geographical location
The municipality lies on the state border with Belarus in eastern Poland. Suwałki is about 50 kilometers north and Białystok 70 kilometers south. The streams include the Biebrza River and the Sidra .
history
From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Suwałki Voivodeship . From 1870 to 1921 her name was Gmina Petropawłowsk .
