The Gmina Nowy Wiśnicz is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Bocheński of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with 2780 inhabitants (2016).

Geographical location

The municipality is located between Kraków and Tarnów and borders the district town of Bochnia in the north .

history

Until 1954 the name was Gmina Wiśnicz Nowy and from 1976 to 1982 Gmina Nowy Wiśnicz-Lipnica . From 1975 to 1998 the municipality was part of the Tarnów Voivodeship .
