The Gmina Puńsk ( Lithuanian Punsko valsčius ) is a bilingual rural community in the Powiat Sejneński of the Podlaskie Voivodeship in Poland . Their seat is the village of the same name with more than 1300 inhabitants.

The rural community with an area of ​​138.37 km² is located on the border with Lithuania . The eponymous place is located 23 kilometers northeast of Suwałki .

history

Gmina Puńsk has been bilingual (Polish and Lithuanian) since 2006 and introduced bilingual place names in 2008. The place has the only Lithuanian school in the country.
