The Gmina Szydłów is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Staszowski of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with about 1050 inhabitants.

The municipality is 40 kilometers southeast of Kielce and borders on the municipality of the district town of Staszów in the east . The Ciekąca is one of the waters .
history
From 1975 to 1998 the municipality was part of the Kielce Voivodeship . On January 1, 2019, Szydłów was promoted to town and the municipality received its current status.

Brzeziny, Gacki, Grabki Duże, Jabłonica, Korytnica, Kotuszów, Mokre, Osówka, Potok, Potok Rządowy, Rudki, Solec, Wola Żyzna, Wolica and Wymysłów.
Other localities are: Kamienna Góra, Księża Niwa, Osówka Stara and Rudki Małe.
Attractions
The main town of the municipality is also known as "the Polish Carcassonne " because of its preserved city walls .
