Godzieszów (German Günthersdorf ) is a village with 590 inhabitants in Poland . It belongs to the municipality Nowogrodziec in the Powiat Bolesławiecki , Lower Silesian Voivodeship and is located south of the Godzieszów motorway exit of the A4 autostrada . The Tschirne has its source in the village . The Tschirne is a left tributary of the Bober .

Günthersdorf was a Bohemian enclave. The village had been an after-fief of the rule of Friedland since the 15th century, i.e. a received fief that the recipient gave to another subordinate fief. On February 12, 1738, Emperor Karl VI. the Magdalenerinnenkloster Lauban the permission to buy the Gut Günthersdorf belonging to Bohemia. The previous owner was Johann Jacob Rörich von Kleinberg, who had owned the village since 1736 and who had owned Wünschendorf bei Friedland since 1666 . The prioress Faulhaber and the convent undertook to recognize Bohemian law in the place. The church and the stately home were renewed.

In the Treaty of Schönbrunn in 1809, Austria renounced the exclaves in Upper Lusatia that had remained with Bohemia after the Peace of Prague of 1635 in favor of Saxony . Without actually taking possession of Günthersdorf, the village came to Prussia through the final act of the Congress of Vienna in 1815. In 1818 the Prussian laws were finally introduced. Until 1945 Günthersdorf belonged to the Bunzlau district .
